If you're getting ready to plan your second wedding and want to ensure it includes your children, fear not. There are plenty of great ways to include the kids--both of your children if applicable--that let them know how important they are to you. Review five fun ideas for including the kiddies in your nuptials. They will remember it forever!
Put your children in the wedding. Make them flower girls and ring bearers, or bridesmaids and groomsmen if they are old enough. They will likely love being in the wedding and having some of the attention thrown their way. If you don't want to do the wedding party thing, simply have your children stand next to you as you say your vows.
Make a unity candle part of your wedding. Have your children light one candle (the bride's taper) and your partner's children light the other (the groom's taper). These candles are subsequently united with the unity candle to create a lovely flame that symbolizes two families becoming one.
Invite your children to help you with wedding decisions, such as flowers and centerpieces, food, reception venue, music, etc. Give them duties or otherwise put them in charge of various things to let them know you truly value their opinions and ideas.
Ask your children with musical instrument talent to play at your wedding. They can play music as you walk down the aisle, after the vows have been said, etc. If you are hiring a band for your reception and want your children to "sit in" on a few tunes, go for it.
Enlist your children to read special poems, Bible verses, or any other words of meaning at your wedding. This is another great way to involve them in your big day, especially if you are not going the wedding party route.
Feel free to get as creative as you want, whatever you decide! Have fun!
