Family Medallion Vows and Sample Ceremony Example

8/13/2013

When ordering your Family Medallions you will receive the original, unique Family Medallion Ceremony complete with vows written by Reverend Roger Coleman. This ceremony and vows are only available through Family Medallion. However, here is a segment or sample of the ceremony:

Officiant:
Often we think of a wedding as the union of two people. In reality, it is much broader. It is a coming together of two families...(the remainder of the ceremony is available with every medallion)

Presentation of Medallions:
Typically done after the bride and groom is pronounced husband and wife.

Officiant:
Two merged circles often symbolize love. The Family Medallion has three circles to represent love that reaches out to include others...

Bride and Groom:
In presenting (this/these) Family Medallion(s), we pledge our continuing love to you... (more with the complete ceremony).

Family Prays:
We give thanks, O Lord, for the relationship here celebrated. We are humbled by the recognition that today we face a new future, one where love is unfolding before our very eyes... (again, more)

A Reading from Prophets:
"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth."

  • These vows are only samples. Feel free to come up with your own personalized vows which will make the ceremony that much more meaningful, and very touching for you, your family and the wedding guests.
  • Note: for children who cannot be physically present at the wedding, it's nice to try to include them somehow. Consider purchasing a medallion and presenting it to the child to help him feel included as part of this new blended family. Be sure to make mention of him during the ceremony and record it to show him he was part of your family in spirit.
