Second Marriage Ceremony Tips

Second Marriage Ceremony Tips
Marrying for the second time is  not only a fresh start, it is a chance to do everything you didn't get to do at your first wedding. Have a small wedding if you were forced into a ridiculous charade the first go 'round, or enjoy a big blowout if you eloped with Hubby #1. Whatever you decide, remember to have fun! Use the following tips and enjoy yourself.

Involve The Kids

Involve the kids, assuming you and or your husband-to-be has them. Put them in the wedding party, ask them to do readings, include them in a unity candle or family medallion ceremony--the list is endless. Let your kiddies know they are an important part of your big day and you want their help. Additionally, make sure they with you at the reception.

Let The Family Know First

Tell your children first about your plans to remarry, then let your parents and other family members know. If your ex is still around, tell him about your marriage as well. It's a gesture of good faith he is sure to appreciate--if not now, then someday.

Register

Ask for donations to favorite charities or "adventure" gifts instead of setting up a traditional registry. It is very likely you already have all the household goods you need!

Buy The Dress

Have fun with your second wedding dress. Go vintage, or find a gown that makes you feel like a princess if your first wedding dress was a little too simple. It's generally a good idea to skip the veil as per second wedding etiquette.

Book Your Vendors

Go as nuts as you want regarding music, flowers, catering, etc. Remember, this is your chance to have a dream wedding, so if you have the inclination and the budget, go for it. If you want to keep things simple, that's fine too.
